The Mobile Enterprise Warms Up

Increased regulatory mandates, diminished customer loyalty, and growing numbers of teleworkers push companies to garner finer control over their assets, customers, and employees; whether they are inside or beyond company facilities. Four industries are vying to help enterprises meet these needs, forging a variety of nontraditional partnerships among carriers, device manufacturers, software vendors, and system integrators. Within three years, Forrester expects system integrators to be the prime mobile enterprise providers for large company implementations. We also expect a rash of consolidations among software vendors and a secondary role for carriers and handset manufacturers.
