Het lang verwachte computerspel Halo 3 voor de Xbox 360 van Microsoft heeft op de eerste verkoopdag in de Verenigde Staten 170 miljoen dollar opgebracht. Volgens analisten zijn daarmee waarschijnlijk eerdere records gebroken.

The Microsoft Unified Communication Team a nice insight to the interconnection between the Windows Live Messenger platform and XBOX Live. May 7 this will go live ... I like the figures as well : 260M Windows Live users and 6M XBOX Live users ...
One of the things I really love about what we do a Microsoft is that sometimes we like to 'break the rules', not in the sense that we do something we shouldn't, more that we do things that should have been done a long time ago.
One of the more recent examples of this is Shadowrun, a game that you can play online across PC and XBOX ... cross platform ... how cool is that!
Well, the boys and girls at XBOX Live and Windows Live Messenger have teamed up to announce a connection between the 260 million Windows Live Messenger users to the 6 million XBOX Live users.
This means from May 7th, gamers will be able to chat with their friends no matter whether they are on the XBOX 360 or Windows Live Messenger.... this truly is another example of us 'breaking the rules' and connecting two great communities together .... lets hope they add voice and video soon after!

Voor de promotie van Coca Cola Zero kiest Coca-Cola in Nederland onder meer voor 'in game' advertising. De advertenties zullen verschijnen in racegames voor Xbox en PC die online gespeeld worden. Deze reclame is dus alleen zichtbaar voor gamers in Nederland en de uiting verschilt per spel en per spelsituatie. Het is de eerste keer in Nederland dat deze vorm van 'in game' advertising plaatsvindt. Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions verwacht dat adverteren via online games de komende jaren zal toenemen.
Dat wordt nog ff snel een feestje organiseren :-)
Op vrijdag 31 maart vindt weer een 'Night of Xbox Live' plaats. Tijdens dit evenement is het de bedoeling dat gamers in het hele land zo veel mogelijk vrienden thuis verzamelen om met Project Gotham Racing 3 via Xbox Live tegen elkaar te racen. Daarbij geldt: hoe meer vrienden, des te groter de kans op prijzen

Jammer weer zo'n voorbeeld van "laten we Microsoft eens aanklagen". Wat doe je als je een apparaat koopt dat een mankement vertoont of defect is ? Je gaat terug naar de leverancier van het apparaat en maakt aanspraak op je garantie. DIt proces is niet echt uniek en geldt voor prulletjes van 2 Euro en Auto's of huizen bijvoorbeeld. Het eerste middel waar je naar grijpt is niet bepaald de rechter. "Moedige stap" ? , meer geldingsdrang denk ik. Je wordt er wel bekend mee, da's waar, dat kan ook een doel zijn in het leven. Remember Lindows ?
Een man uit Chicago heeft de moedige stap genomen om Microsoft voor de rechter te slepen. De reden van de aanklacht zijn de problemen met Microsoft's nieuwe console, de Xbox 360. Veel consumenten ondervinden problemen omdat de voeding te heet wordt, waardoor de console vastloopt.

Microsoft heeft aangekondigd dat games van Electronic Arts beschikbaar komen voor Xbox Live. Initieel gaat het om spellen als fifa en Madden NFL. Halo 2 is gepland voor 9 november van dit jaar. Op dit moment heeft Microsoft al meer dan 14 Miljoen Xboxen verkocht en Xbox live heeft zo'n 1 Miljoen abonnees.
