Microsoft Project Natal – sell your WII while you can :-)
… One of the biggest announcements at Microsoft's E3 keynote was Project Natal, an ambitious project using camera tech developed by 3DV. The keynote promo video shows off many planned uses for the new peripheral, running the gamut from something as simple as beating up an old, feeble man, to complex voice recognition and scanning features. It's ambitious, to say the least, and only time will tell if the company can pull it off …

BeFunky - Cartoonize your pictures
A few weeks ago I saw Willem's blogpost about BeFunky. A cool site which let's you create avatars and also cartoons from photos.
I'm sure that applications like photoshop, etc can do this much better, but doing this on BeFunky is really a 'nobrainer' and the effect is quite nice ...
Ok I need a facelift, that's all :-)
This is very nice for presentations for example ...

Virgle ... People on Mars ...
... Posted by Sir Richard Branson, President and Founder of Virgin Group
In my life, I've had a lot of exciting adventures and launched a lot of ambitious business ventures. I'm delighted today to announce Virgle, Inc., a joint venture between the Virgin Group and Google which qualifies on both counts.Virgle's goal is simple: the establishment of a permanent human settlement on Mars. Larry Page, Sergey Brin and I feel strongly that contemporary technology is sufficiently advanced to make such an effort both successful and economical, and that it's high time that humanity moved beyond Earth and began our great, long journey to explore the stars and establish our first lasting foothold on another world.
In the years to come, we'll be sending up a series of spaceships carrying (along with the supplies and tools needed to build the new colony) what eventually will be hundreds of Mars colonists, or Virgle Pioneers -- myself among them. If you think you might want join us (or invest in or otherwise assist this vast venture), I hope you'll read more here about how Virgle will work, what our brave Pioneers can expect and what the future holds for what just might be the most ambitious adventure in mankind's long and storied history.
See you on the north side of Kasei Valles!....

Channel 10: Life At Microsoft - The Truth Revealed
For everyone who wants to know what life is really like @ Microsoft :-)
People often stop me in the streets to ask "Hey Tina, what's life "really" like at Microsoft? Sometimes I can't even walk outside my house without somebody standing there with a giant neon sign that blinks "What is life "really" like at Microsoft"? Instead of answering every individual separately and so you can save your money on those neon signs. I decided to create a video that would answer that simple yet complex question. I want to throw out a special high-five to the following because without them and a lot of beer this video never would have happened. ...

Gizmodo: This Video Makes Bill Gates Look Cooler Than Steve Jobs
Very funny video :-) (follow link to source to play the video)

OMG, I can hear the fanboys battling already. Here's a video from last night's CES 2008 keynote, Bill Gates' last for the foreseeable future. And I know its scripted, edited and contrived, but I'm sold: The man is a cool geek. He's not cool in a fonzie/Jobs kind of way in this video. But very much like how he seemed at total ease with his geekiness and place in the universe at Mossberg and Swisher's All Things D conference the guy just looks happy here. (Especially while playing goofy and modest butt of the joke with this short's star studded cast.) He seems nothing like the anti-antitrust mogul with a killer instinct and "bad taste" we learned to hate in Pirates of Silicon Valley. Fanboys, get to your comment battle stations. Just leave me out of it -- I only wrote the headline.

Crayon Physics Deluxe - Game for TabletPC
Through Scoble I came across a very cool game (in progress) for the Tablet PC called Crayon Physics. Very cool and level 3 of the prototype game already was too much in my quick test ... Can't wait for the real game to become available ...
Crayon Physics Deluxe is a sequel to the popular freeware game Crayon Physics. Or you can think of it as the game I would have created if I would have had more than 7 days to do it. Way more than 7 days. More like 7 months or 17 months.
Anyway Crayon Physics Deluxe is a 2D physics puzzle game, in which you get to experience what it would be like if your drawings would be magically transformed into real physical objects. Solve puzzles with your artistic vision and creative use of physics.
The game features:
- Greatly improved physics (you can draw what ever you want)
- Huge number of new levels
- Easy to use level editor
You can read more about the game from my blog. Also you can test the original prototype which is freely available. But please understand that the prototype isn’t a demo version of this game and doesn’t reflect the quality of Crayon Physics Deluxe.

Be sure to check out the video on the website. Don't you have a tabletPC ? Too bad, but you can always enjoy the video ;-) ...

This will be a very nice weekend : New Tablet, Windows Vista, Office 2007 ...
The IT dept emailed me this morning that my new Toshiba Portege M400 Tablet PC has arrived and if I would like to pick it up ..."hmmm let me think about it" ... "YES !"

I've been waiting for the new machine to start working with a totally new configuartion :
The new Tablet + Windows Vista Beta2 + Office 2007 Professional Beta2.
We call this process dogfooding (which we get to do all the time :-) ) and although there may be bumps in the road I am very confident the new setup will bring far more benefits than downside.
After working with Office 2007 Beta's for quite some time I am very impressed by the Beta2 version which I use in production now since the internal release ..owsome ...
Windows Vista will be new to be honoust so much of the weekend will be spend on that learningcurve (if the family will allow me ...
No matter how sceptical you might be about Microsoft software (part of my blogvisitors are ;-) ) if you have some IT spirit in you, you may be able to understand the excitement.
From now on you can expect a "field trip" report frequently ...

TRCLHCA (The Real Canonical List of Humorous Computer Acronyms)
There have been a few lists posted around the net claiming to be the canonical list of humorous computer industry acronyms. I dispute those claims because they don't have half as many as I've found. I started collecting acronyms in 1990 (check out the article that I posted to Usenet, which is available at textfiles.com or at Google), and I've seen many more since then.
Funny list of acronyms :-), go check it out : TRCLHCA (The Real Canonical List of Humorous Computer Acronyms)
